Terms and Conditions
Book a trip on our book with us page here on the web site; follow the instructions. Alternatively you may also book by telephone at 1-800-985-9625.
A $300 non-refundable deposit per person is due upon booking. Upon receipt of your deposit we will confirm your booking by return e-mail.
Payment
We accept payment by major credit cards via PayPal or by personal check. Follow the Pay for your Trip instructions on our book with us page. Our payment schedule is simple:
- Upon booking we require a $300 non-refundable deposit per person
- 60 days prior to departure we require full payment for the trip
Our trips are priced in US dollars but our costs are in Euros. Therefore if the value of the Euro strengthens significantly against the dollar after you make your booking we may have to apply a slight price increase to cover the currency fluctuation. If there is such an adjustment, you will be notified at least two months in advance.
Single Travelers
As accommodations and other prices for our Suggested Itineraries are determined on a per person double occupancy basis we need to charge single travelers a single supplement on these choices. We will let you know the single supplement amount in our initial communication with you. All other prices of custom itineraries will automatically include the single supplement, if appropriate, when quoted.
Cancellations and Refunds
If you need to cancel your trip the following refund policy will apply. Regrettably we must strictly adhere to this policy without exception:
- If you cancel 60 days or more prior to departure - we will refund all but your $300 non-refundable deposit per person
- If you cancel 59-31 days prior to departure - we will refund 50% of total trip cost
- If you cancel 30 days or less prior to departure - we are unable to provide a refund
In addition, please note that we are unable to give partial refunds for hotel rooms, meals, or any activities, excursions or other optional arrangements prepaid in advance and unused while on your trip for any reason whatsoever. Single supplements are part of the total price trip and therefore also subject to cancellation fees.
Trip Cancellation and Interruption Insurance
We strongly recommend that you purchase trip cancellation/interruption insurance to protect yourself in case you are unable to start your trip or you need to cancel the remainder of your trip. There are many providers of such insurance and we suggest you review their terms carefully.
Please note that walkprovence.com is not responsible for additional expenses you may have incurred in preparing for your trip such as nonrefundable advance purchase air tickets, clothing, etc. Nor do we take responsibility for loss of baggage in transit to or from one of our trips.
We strongly advise you check your medical insurance policy for coverage on your trip and purchase additional medical coverage if necessary.

The cost of your trip includes accommodations in hotels or B&Bs, all breakfasts, some dinners depending on the trip, all trip kits including our comprehensive package of walk guides and related maps and supporting material, area handbooks, background information, and any optional activities signed up for in advance such as cooking courses, horseback riding, ballooning, etc.

Itinerary Adjustment
In very rare instances it may become necessary to adjust an accommodation or route arrangement because of changed circumstances. In these cases walkprovence.com reserves the right to make a change in arrangements to an alternative of comparable quality.
Traveler Responsibility
All levels of walking require an appropriate level of physical fitness. It is each traveler’s responsibility to be sufficiently fit for the level of walking required by the trip. It is also each traveler’s responsibility to be sufficiently proficient with overland navigation indispensable for self-guided walking, including map reading, orientation, using a compass, and emergency skills.
Travelers also need to realize that independent travel in a different culture may encounter occasional glitches and needs a healthy level of flexibility, good humor, and a positive attitude.
